Privacy policy

What we collect

• Contact details: the name, work email and agency name you give us on the pilot form, the endpoint form, or by email.
• Endpoints you ask us to monitor: each URL, the name you give it, the client it belongs to, and the status codes that count as healthy.
• Alert channels: your Telegram chat ID, or, if you use Add to Slack, your Slack workspace name and ID, the channel you picked and the webhook URL Slack gives us. We only ask Slack for permission to post to that one channel. We can't read your messages.
• Check results: for each check, the status code, response time and time of the check, plus any incidents and recoveries.
• Billing details: if you subscribe to Pro Agency, Stripe collects your payment details. We see your name, email, billing address, plan and payment status, but never your full card number.
• Messages: anything you send us by email or in notes on a form.

We don't install anything on your servers, and we never log in to your systems. Checks request your URLs the way any visitor would.

Outreach

If we contacted you first, we found your business name, website and work contact details from public sources such as your agency's website. We use them only to send you a short message about Cronus. Reply "no thanks" or ask us to remove you, and we'll delete them and won't contact you again.

Why we use it

• To run the checks you asked for and send alerts, recovery notices, weekly reports and your end-of-pilot summary.
• To set up your account, reply to you and handle billing.
• To keep the service reliable and stop abuse of our forms.

Who processes it for us

We use a small number of providers. Each one handles only the part of your information it needs.

• Cloudflare: hosts this site, receives form submissions, routes our email, runs the scheduler that starts checks, and keeps a short record of each paid subscription (name, email, plan and status) so we can set up and close accounts.
• GitHub: runs the checks. Your endpoint list is stored there as an encrypted secret. Run logs don't show your URLs or endpoint names.
• Google (Gmail): our business inbox, where form submissions and your emails arrive.
• Slack and Telegram: deliver alerts to the channel you chose.
• Stripe: processes payments, sends receipts and invoices, and calculates any sales tax.
• Asana: our task list, used to track outreach and client setup.

How long we keep it

• Endpoints and alert channels: removed from our monitoring configuration the same day monitoring ends, whether that's the end of a pilot or a cancelled plan.
• Check results: kept only while you're monitored, for alerts and reports.
• Emails and form submissions: deleted within 30 days after you stop being a client or tell us you're not interested, unless we need them to settle a billing question.
• Billing records: kept by Stripe, and by us, for as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Cookies

This site doesn't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie to protect the site from bots. Stripe's checkout and customer portal pages have their own cookie and privacy policies.

Your choices

Email us any time to see the information we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, or stop monitoring. If you delete your alert channel or endpoints, we can no longer send you alerts. You can remove the Slack connection yourself at any time from your Slack workspace's app settings.

Security

Credentials and webhook URLs are stored as encrypted secrets, and access is limited to what each part of the system needs. No system is perfectly secure. If something happens that affects your information, we'll tell you promptly.

Children

Cronus is a business service for agencies. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and email active clients before the change takes effect.
